Volunteer

The Hackettstown Hurricanes Swim Team is a volunteer-run organization.  The success of our swim meets and our team depends on the help of all our families.

We need to be able to provide capable volunteers in sufficient numbers to run our meets safely and efficiently.   You do not need to be an expert in swimming to provide help.   Attitude is everything.  If you are willing to learn we are willing to teach.

Please check in with your Leagues Volunteer Coordinators prior to every meet to sign up for the shift you can work that day.  Shifts will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.  If you are at the meet and would like to get involved just ask the Volunteer Coordinator.

There are many opportunities to volunteer!  Besides the regular swim meets, there is work that can be done for the Kick-Off party, sorting and distributing gear,  and the year-end party is also a great opportunity to get involved.

Concession stand volunteers help set up or take down the stand.  They sell the candy, food items and magnets at home swim meets. The stand opens 15 minutes prior to the meet start, and closes at the end of the meet. You coordinate with the volunteers to allow breaks to see your children swim.

Scorers (3)

Scoring volunteers sit at a table behind the blocks they record all swimmers times and points earned, they keep official swimmer entries for each team and record heat place winners.
